The full name of this tree peony is ‘Flight of the Cranes of Shimane Prefecture.’ Shimane, located on the southwestern coast of the main island of Japan, has been a famous area of peony production in Japan since the 18th century.
Growth habit and size at maturity (10 years old): Upright growth habit. Vigorous grower, to 2.5′ tall and 2.5′ wide.
Flower form and size: Somewhat ruffled, single, 8-10″.
