Teens In Teatown
Are you a teen looking to gain service hours while learning more about Teatown? If so, we have the program for you!
Teens in Teatown is a volunteer and social group for high school youth (14-18 years old). TNT participants volunteer weekly for special service projects and attend monthly meetings where they gain practical skills, leadership development, and have the opportunity to meet other Teatown Teens. Monthly meetings are held on Saturdays from late morning to early afternoon. Choose between a 5- or 10-month commitment.
TNT participants complete special service projects in the following areas:
Trail Crew
Do you love hiking Teatown’s many trails? Do you prefer to work independently with flexible scheduling? Join our new Trail Crew project and help maintain the 15 miles of trails at Teatown. Activities include clearing debris, erosion control, documenting the spread of invasive species, and more.
Weekdays & Weekends during Nature Center hours (9am – 5pm)

Agroecology
Work alongside members of our Stewardship Department to restore various habitats across our 1000+ acre preserve – including at Cliffdale Farm. Activities include seed collecting, native plant propagation, invasive species removal, and more.
Saturdays 10 – 11:30am

Junior Educator
Assist a Teatown Educator with weekend public programs and get to know your local community. These programs range from guided hikes to animal encounters to arts and crafts. Through this project, you will gain experience in leadership and public speaking.

Nature Girls
Nature Girls is one of our most cherished nature-oriented afterschool partnership programs. There are two chapters of the program: Ossining and Peekskill. As part of the Nature Girls team, you will work closely alongside a Teatown Educator and help lead lessons involving hikes, games, crafts, and animal encounters.

Fees
A $100 program fee per session ($200 per year), which covers training and administrative supplies, is required to participate. This fee is only refundable during the first-month trial period.
