Seasonal Nature Art Workshop: From Green to Gold

Join Strawtown artists and Teatown educators as we look closely at this in-between time of year.  We will explore nature outdoors, look for gold, silver, and other changes in color and texture of trees and plant skeletons. Then we’ll gather natural materials for art-making: twigs, leaves, seeds, nuts, and more.  Indoors we will work with a variety of sculptural materials, like wire, strings, and metallic embellishments to create a seasonal work to take home! Volunteer Training: Amphibian Migrations & Road Crossings

On rainy nights on the cusp of spring, an amphibian’s natural clock sends out the alarm that it’s time to migrate to vernal pools and begin the breeding process. Teatown educators patrol the roads surrounding Teatown, monitoring the small and slimy as they attempt to cross the road, reporting their findings to the NYS DEC Amphibian Monitoring Program.
