General Interest Meeting: Hudson River Eel Project

American eels are migratory fish that are hatched in the Atlantic Ocean and enter rivers as tiny “glass eels” each spring. The species is in decline over much of its range, and baseline studies are needed for conservation. Help protect this critical species. For adults and young adults.

Full Moon Hike

Teatown 1600 Spring Valley Rd, Ossining, NY

The March full moon is often called the Sap Moon by Native Peoples who used the Moon’s phases to track the seasons; this time of the year heralds the sugaring season when sap begins to flow in maple trees and the ground begins to soften enough for earthworms to reappear, inviting the return of robins. Take a guided walk to Swope’s Field to watch the moon rise. Dress appropriately for weather conditions. Inclement weather cancels. For adults.
