Explore the dwindling days of summer and the start of fall in this program for the youngest nature lovers. Through hikes, play, experiments, and projects, we'll find out what seasonal changes are taking place. Please dress for the weather and a full outdoor program.
The meadows, gardens, and forests at Cliffdale are rich with an abundance of plants that can be used for many purposes. The Lenape, indigenous people of this area, knew what plants to use for cordage, healing, and food. Join Teatown Environmental Educator Marie Roche to learn about the resources nature provides, and make a few projects to take home. This is a weekly program.

What invertebrates will we find in the tall grass? Make your own sweep net and then test it out.
Start the season with an autumnal color hike, where we’ll look for the full rainbow of fall foliage. Be prepared for a moderately difficult hike through Hidden Valley. Wear appropriate hiking footwear, bring sun protection, bug spray, water, and a snack.
