Through scavenger hunts and challenges, we'll discover the various habitats Teatown has to offer and the animals within them. Bring sturdy shoes, water, and a snack to enjoy from some scenic vistas.

Investigate Teatown’s replica Native American site and learn about the people who lived in the lower Hudson Valley when Henry Hudson discovered the North River. We will look at replica tools and discuss how the Lenape respected nature and were the original stewards of the habitats in the valley.

Come learn about turkeys! Turkeys are quite the bird and we will talk about their life history and habitat. We will wrap up our program by talking about some other birds and meet one of Teatown’s bird ambassadors.
Hike to the Pine Forest to build your own gnome home during our special "Elf and Gnome Homes" program on Saturday, December 12! We will build sustainable habitats for woodland creatures and also read a book to get your imagination for small structures going! For families.

Warren's Sugarhouse is open for family tours! Join a Teatown educator for a demonstration of tree tapping and visit the sugarhouse to learn how sap is made into maple syrup! One family (no more than 5 people) for each 20 minute tour.
The spring rains have filled the vernal pools at Hidden Valley here at Teatown. Join us for this exciting hike as we search for the spotted salamanders and wood frogs who have made their way back to these locations to lay their eggs, beginning the cycle of life.
Join Wendy Bosco and Nick Comparato of the Bat Interest Group of Westchester (BIGW) for an afternoon all about bats at Teatown! Enjoy socially distanced outdoor time, learn about the bats that call Westchester home, and help build bat boxes that will be installed right here at Teatown nature preserve! This program is limited to 4 families.
Join educator Marie Roche at Kingsland Point County Park in Sleepy Hollow, NY, to see what lives in the Hudson River! Find out why the estuary is such a special habitat and see what fish you might catch. Come prepared to have fun splashing in the water wearing clothes and shoes that can get you wet.
