Seminar: Bears in Our Backyards

Join biologist Budd Veverka, Director of Land Management at the Mianus River Gorge in Westchester County, NY, for an in-depth look at black bears and how to peacefully co-exist with these large mammals. Budd’s long-time study of the species and first-hand experience along with his outgoing and personable nature will make this an enjoyable presentation.

Budd Veverka, a Certified Wildlife Biologist®, is the Director of Land Management at Mianus River Gorge, Inc. He has a Bachelors in Wildlife from Unity College in Maine and a Masters in Biology from Eastern Kentucky University. Prior to working at Mianus, Budd worked with a variety of wildlife at various agencies and institutions in West Virginia, Nebraska, Georgia, Kentucky, and Indiana. However, Budd’s passion is black bears, having experience with black bears and black bear research in Pennsylvania, Maine, West Virginia, Kentucky, and Indiana.
